I spent about 31 before tip, which is pricey, but delicious. I had the crab cake blt sweet baby Jesus, the guave beer, and a house salad. Loooved it

In terms of vegan and gluten free options, there's very limited at Willow's. I ordered a salad with fruit and no salmon and was still charged for salmon. I asked the waitress if she correct the price, as normally restaurants charge a house salad price when I ask for no meat, and she was very rude with handing that. I only saved $2, which either means the salmon was cheap or the salad was expensive!
It's a beautiful atmosphere! My friends enjoyed the meat dishes. However, due to the lack of vegan and gluten free options I will not be returning. -

I've visited Willow's a handful of times since it has been open. I'm not exactly how many years that's been, but I always feel like I should eat there more often. But when I actually do eat there, like today, I'm reminded why my visits are only sporadic. I've never been able to fully enjoy any visit I've ever had at Willow's. It's not just one thing I can point to. On a couple of occasions the food was amazing and the service was terribly subpar. On other occasions the food was just average and I had good service. I've never had a "complete" experience here that is worthy of the hype that Willow's receives.
They proudly advertise that they use foods from sources that are completely "organic and sustainable" and presumably local. I do admire that. Unfortunately I've never had a dish that's ever blown me away. Today I had a fried chicken sandwich for brunch that was topped with a fried egg, bacon, and goat cheese. The chicken itself was crispy and juicy, but the goat cheese completely overwhelmed the rest of the flavors. My wife had chicken and waffles that were completely unremarkable, particularly for the price.
While the service today was good, for the most part I find it average to aloof. One thing I despise about locally-owned establishments that generate a lot of hype from reviewers and media is that some of them have servers who act like they're doing you a favor by bringing you a plate of their food. Such has been the case at Willow's on occasion. That's probably the biggest reason why I don't frequent the place. I can deal with lofty prices for good food if the service is good. Unfortunately, in my experience, too often that has not been the case at Willow's. Still, in my quest to justify the hype that they receive, I'm sure I will come back in a few months to give it another shot. -

Disappointed, ordered what was recommended by the server and the steak was very chewy and the fries had an excessive amount of salt.

Met a colleague for dinner and we settled on Willow's Bistro. This quaint restaurant is one of Winston-Salem's best kept secrets!! I had fried chicken, collard greens and mashed potatoes.....delicious!!!! Service was personal and everyone was helpful and had a smile.
Definitely, a must try if you're in the area.
